Guaviare
From the Amazon to the sailing ship
Guaviare cacao is grown and sold by small farmers grouped in their own cooperative. The cultivation area includes the municipality of Calamar, particularly the village of Tierra Negra, a region that was difficult to access a few years ago. Where coca crops once predominated, today bananas, beans, corn, and cacao grow.
Guaviare is the most sustainable source of laflor: part of the farms are located within the world's largest tropical national park. The beans, once fermented and sun-dried, are transported to Europe on the sailing ship "Tres Hombres", with no CO₂ emissions.
Profile: Floral, with notes of honey, caramel, and a fresh hint of citrus.
